New Work: Fairies and Elves

Last October, our baby Charlotte turned TWO! Despite the fact that I was 8 months pregnant (Farris was three weeks old at the party) somehow I went into party planning overdrive and did a full calligraphy/illustrated invitation. Don't let this make you feel bad about your own party planning, because I know I was neglecting to do things like take showers, put on clothes other than old Christmas pajamas and Luke's T-shirts, and eat anything except for frozen thin crust pizzas. All this while laying around with my body pillow.

But anyway, here's how the accordion-fold invitation came out!

We had a great time at her party!

Baby Fair is here!

Well it seems like these months are going by so quickly, and I know I haven't even announced baby Farris on this blog yet. She's here! Rosemary Farris Powell was born a week late on September 25, 2012 and she's absolutely the sweetest. She has such a tender nature, she gives away her smiles, and in general she seems very easy-going.

Oftentimes we call her Fair, and what other word comes to mind except for Fairy? So naturally fairies are her thing, and I use them on everything having to do with her.

For her birth announcement I did a logo with four hearts, one for each of us in our little family, put her photo in a circle with rosemary wrapped around, and used two fairy sisters as an envelope liner.
