Lately I’ve been thinking of the fullness of God: the rich and divine fullness of the Trinity, the sustaining fullness of God holding all things together, the renewing fullness of our dwelling in Christ and He in us, the sanctifying fullness of the Holy Spirit, the fullness of that earth-moving love which sent Christ to come for us, which we discover in the most still, quiet moments of wonder. Our house is lacking furniture and pictures on the wall, but the life and hope of Christmas green has clothed it and replaced any lack with abundance. “And I pray that you, firmly fixed in love yourselves, may be able to grasp (with all Christians) how wide and deep and long and high is the love of Christ—and to know for yourselves that love so far beyond our comprehension. May you be filled though all your being with God himself!” Eph. 3: 18-19

Singing Lessons & Carols at IPC is one of my very favorite things, and this year was a special one: the 30th annual Lessons & Carols and the 40th anniversary of my aunt and uncle serving in music ministry. What a privilege to sing such beautiful music under their leadership—the best! This year we sang the premiere of a piece commissioned in their honor by Alice Parker. Such a full weekend filled with fun with cousins, seeing old friends and meeting new, and worshipping our Savior together. I love that God created arts which fill us up and through which we can honor him.
