I love lettering. Even the simplest, most casual little projects bring a deep level of satisfaction. The forms of letters are so interesting to start, and it feels like such a privilege to bend, stretch, abbreviate, or simplify a letter to have it speak in a whole new way. It’s like a dance, getting to know a letter, appreciate what it is, and challenge it to do more. Even when I simply hand letter based on a typeface design, there is something about working with the hand that makes me feel a new level of fondness for our written language, like I’ve just given it a familiar hug or pat on the back. This lettering is based on a typeface by Jukebox Collection.
