Lately I’ve been thinking of the fullness of God: the rich and divine fullness of the Trinity, the sustaining fullness of God holding all things together, the renewing fullness of our dwelling in Christ and He in us, the sanctifying fullness of the Holy Spirit, the fullness of that earth-moving love which sent Christ to come for us, which we discover in the most still, quiet moments of wonder. Our house is lacking furniture and pictures on the wall, but the life and hope of Christmas green has clothed it and replaced any lack with abundance. “And I pray that you, firmly fixed in love yourselves, may be able to grasp (with all Christians) how wide and deep and long and high is the love of Christ—and to know for yourselves that love so far beyond our comprehension. May you be filled though all your being with God himself!” Eph. 3: 18-19
