Cool New Artist: Erik Otto

I especially like his installations.

He's got prints and other things available for sale, too, and 2 books (here and here) via Blurb. Maybe they'll go on my Christmas list.

Cool New Artist: Kathryn Van Dyke

So, I've been posting a lot of things seen on The Look See lately! Love Kathryn Van Dyke's work--the negative space, the intense wild color in small doses.

Works Made In Valencia

I LOVE this self-promo poster: Works Made in Valencia by designer Jae-Hyouk Sung, to promote her first solo exhibition. This was featured in ID mag's annual design review 2008, and it's won several other awards as well. Look at the complexity and intricacy of the detail. From top to bottom: front, detail of front, back, detail of back.

more of the artist's work can be seen here, first place in the Print Media category in the 2003 Adobe Design Achievement Awards.

and here are a few of the winners from ID annual design review.

I fell in love...

...with a certain typeface named Archer. My friend Holly and I were talking about it this morning. I have loved it since it was released this spring, and she informed me that it was the typeface used in Martha Stewart! Now it's open to the public for purchasing. It's so friendly and elegant, especially for a slab serif.

Hi everyone,
Luke said maybe I could put some work on here. Here is a fun little project I did for flower magazine ( It's an invitation and envelope for their first anniversary party, as you can see. Got to use watercolor and pen&ink again, which was fun to revisit. used a lot of that in school.
