...with a certain typeface named Archer. My friend Holly and I were talking about it this morning. I have loved it since it was released this spring, and she informed me that it was the typeface used in Martha Stewart! Now it's open to the public for purchasing. It's so friendly and elegant, especially for a slab serif.

I've seen Archer before. I sort of like it, but I think it tries a little too hard. It seems a little too Martha Stewart-y — a commercialized pseudo-domestic aesthetic that can smack of kitsch. That is probably too harsh, though. I can see using it in moderation. I definitely like that it comes with old-style figures.
I can see what you mean. Although, maybe one could associate it a little with kitsch because it's associate with Martha Stewart in the first place. I do love the rounded terminals and think it has such a friendlier and more feminine presence than most slab serifs... i.e. stymie, which is kind of friendly but clods along like a donkey, instead of gliding like a swan as Archer does. To me it is a lot more versatile than most other slab serifs out there. (interesting article here, from which i borrowed the swan analogy)
